Scrapbook journal page

I've had a bit of scrapbook inspired motivation today and created a layout to go in my Journal 52 art journal (I'm still working on 2014 prompts!).  The prompt for this theme was 'Wise Words'. I did some browsing to look for a deep and meaningful quote but decided to go with some words of my own to myself.
The story behind this page is all about my frustrations at my weight loss progress.  I've been losing  now for a while and although I am just a pound away from losing six stone, I'm getting frustrated as it's coming off soooo slowly !  So I started the page by applying Gesso through a chevron stencil which has worked as a slight resist to the next layer of Gelatos which I've blended with water.  I've stamped text over that and added a torn strip of printed paper. I used spray inks and distress stain to add droplets/splats in the corners.
I came across these photos which I'd printed a while ago but done nothing with. The bigger one is from my work ID badge taken in 2010 which was a couple of years before I started my weight loss journey. The other is a passport photo taken earlier this year.
The title and journalling are a message to myself to remember how much progress I've made, rather than be frustrated at feeling like I should be losing faster. I've finished the page with letter stickers and die cuts, punched butterfly and flowers and touches of Stickles for a bit of girly bling.

I used the sketch over at Stuck?! challenge blog for inspiration

and am also sharing this over at 'Lasting Memories' where the theme is Mixed Media with a Bold Title.
