I've been to the Sincerely yours craft show in Thetford today and had a lovely afternoon treating myself to a few yummy new things - including ink and sprays. I always have trouble remembering what colours I already have when I'm out browsing so a while ago I decided to make myself a colour swatch book. It's been a work in progress but I had more or less finished getting the colour samples inside and decided it needed a cover. I forgot to take a before pic but it was Kraft with a black chevron pattern - pretty uninspiring. This is what it looks like now -
I started with an assortment of discarded gelli prints. I always end up with a selection of prints from gelli plate sessions that I'm not so keen on but I never throw them away.
I used an larger sheet to cover the notebook and then added texture paste through a stencil and some stamping.
I forgot to take progress photos but here's a closer look at the stamped circles - they are flower heads from JOFY PaperArtsy stamps which I stamped onto some of the Gelli prints with black archival, cut out and highlighted with a white pen.
The words are from The Artistic Stamper and - yep stamped on a gelli print! After sticking on the circles and words I edged the covers in Tim Holtz tissue tape. I also added a little pocket inside the front cover for the PaperArtsy paint chart. You can see here the first page with colour swatches of Distress inks. I've also added colour samples of ink sprays, Inktense pencils, gellatos, stickles etc - pretty much all of the mediums I have several colours of.
My book was really handy while shopping and saved me from wasting money on an ink I already have. I'm sharing this over at -Craft Stamper Take it Make it - Take a Stamp
