Birds and Bees At FSC

Over at Fashionable Stamping this fortnight our theme is Birds and Bees. Although I know birds are a very popular theme for crafting projects and love the many beautiful creations I see around blogland, it's one I've never really got into. So I've gone the bees route - making another tag for my Creative Chemistry Album (which I am VERY SLOWLY working on to include all of the techniques from Tim Holtz's CC workshops).

This technique is Distress embossing powder resist using Walnut stain distress powder to emboss this background stamp from Artistic Stamper before inking over with distress inks and stains.
Once I'd created the background using the basic technique I added stamped and embossed flowers, my fav TH die cut and of course the bees and their hive. The flower stamps are Indigo Blu, the bee hive and sentiment are Stamp addicts and the bees are from Crafty Individuals.
I make two tags using each technique for my CC album, leaving one unadorned and  using the other for a completed project.
As always my fellow FSC teamies have created some beautiful works of art so please head over and check them out. I hope you feel inspired to join our challenge - Don't forget we are a stamping challenge and we especially need to see that the stamping is the focal point on the project and that this must follow the format of the theme. NO Digi stamps please, but digi downloads are ok to enhance your project. Our sponsor is Flonzcraft and the winner chosen at random will receive a voucher for $20 - we also give special mention to our top 3.

I'm sharing my tag here -
Crafty Individuals - Tag you're it
A Vintage Journey - Wings and Things
Crafty Creations - Tic Tac Toe (Embossing, Flowers, die Cut)
It's all about the Vintage - Punches/Die Cuts

Tag Time at FSC

Time for another challenge over at Fashionable Stamping, and its time for tags ! I love making tags and one of my ongoing projects (i.e. something I've started and never get round to working on!) is to make sample tags working through Tim Holtz's Creative Chemistry 101 online class (that I signed up to a life time ago and haven't got round to finishing) So this fortnight's FSC challenge gave me the perfect opportunity to add another -

The background is created using the perfect splatter distress technique - perfect pearls and distress inks. I've kept the tag simple to show off the background, adding a few bits of background stamping and the main image which is a flonzcraft stamp. I added some Stampendous shabby green embossing powder along the bottom edge, decoupaged the flowers and added some stickles rock candy glitter to the flowers also.
I made two tags and left one undecorated.

Stuck them both in my CC101 album and added the instructions on the opposite page.

The rest of the FSC team have, as always, made some beautiful tags for inspiration, so do pay them a visit and it would be great to have you join our tag challenge - don't forget we MUST see some stamping, not just Digis, and the winner will be chosen at random and receive a voucher to spend over at FlonzCraft...Happy Tagging..Esther xx

Fashionable swirls

We have some exciting news over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges– Shirley has been working very hard on some changes to the challenge site – Starting with this fortnight’s challenge (and I’ll get to that in a minute) we have a brand new sponsor – Flonzcraft and have our own dotcom address. This means our challenge site has moved so make sure you change any stored bookmarks and links via our logos !
So onto the current challenge then – which is Swirls as chosen by Shirley herself. I’ve made a little tag -
SD534006
I used Tim Holtz's wrinkle free distress technique for the background, stamped Inkadinkadoo foliage trails and added die cut swirls and Butterflies.
SD534008
The butterflies are cut from book pages that have been coloured with ink sprays and stamped and embossed (and yes I know..the text is upside down, – guess who die cut them the wrong way up?!).  The stamp is from the Vintage No1 set by Stamp Addicts.
SD534013
The tag is to go into my Creative Chemistry 101 Album, I signed up for the online classes and am slowly getting round to making samples for each technique!
I'm sharing my tag at -
The Artistic Stamper - Tags
HappyCampers - Flutterby Butterfly
So, lets see your swirly creations, don’t forget to check out the beautiful inspiration pieces from my team mates and remember we do ask for some stamping on your entries.  Have fun…Esther xx
