So our lovely Debi has declared that she is a hopeless romantic, and would love us to share lots of Roses and Romance over at Craft-Room this fortnight. Our Sponsor is Crafty Individuals
Now unlike Debi I don't consider myself to be that romantic so initially didn't know where to start so I fished out some stamps and just went with it. I used Tim Holtz wrinkle free distress technique to create a background with monochrome distress ink colours, stamped with etched roses, text and background grunge stamps, then flicked some water (also TH inspired) and ink spray about.
The floral stamp is an old PSX stamp - Botanical Wild Roses, it's one of the first I ever bought and still a favourite. I painted with distress inks and fussy cut, there's some distress stickles in the centre too.
Week six of Journal 52 had the prompt 'The lost art of love letters' so I used this as my journal page title and stencilled the lettering onto a heart which I had stamped with the etched roses before clear embossing the whole piece.
I added my 'letter' which I made with another piece of cardstock, distress stains and text stamp. I made a little bundle of envelopes and die cut a pen and ink bottle which I covered with glossy accents.
In the end I was really happy with my journal page and now I look forward to visiting you to see what you create.
I'm sharing my journal page here -
