"The Butterfly's attractiveness derives not only from colours and symmetry: deeper motives contribute to it. We would not think them so beautiful if they did not fly, or if they flew straight and briskly like bees, or if they stung, or above all if they did not enact the perturbing mystery of metamorphosis: the latter assumes in our eyes the value of a badly decoded message, a symbol, a sign." Primo Levi (writer, chemist and a survivor of Auschwitz.)
Debi was inspired by this quote to choose Butterflies as our next theme for the Craft-Room Challenge. I love making anything with butterflies on so this was a dream theme for me and here is my tag -
The tag is coloured with smooshed and spritzed Distress inks, I’ve then layered a couple of pieces of coloured card, the smallest piece is stamped with a butterfly background. The Butterflies are die cut using a saved, dried out wet wipe previously used for ‘cleaning up’ which I glued to a piece of card before cutting. It gives a really muted soft finish – and is recycled and cheap! The flourish is grunge paper coloured with DI and covered in crackle accents. I realised too late that I didn’t put any ribbon through the top so just use your imaginations !
I’m going to enter my tag here -
Stampin for the Weekend – Wings and Things
Sir Stampalot – Anything Goes
Stamp Something – Bugs or Butterflies
Papertake Weekly – Anything Goes
