Sorry – Christmas alert!

Boy have I had a tricky weekend – you see I’m not one of these organised people who start their Christmas cards in the summer –in fact I’m lucky if it’s still Autumn when the snow and bauble stamps come out, but my Design Team stamps arrived from Stamp Addicts last week and they are for a Christmas Themed show – so my hand was forced! I really struggled to get the festive mojo going but managed in the end and thought I’d share a couple of my efforts…

After I finished I wondered if the little polar bear looked lonely and considered adding another, but it looked too much and I quite like the simplicity of this.  I stamped and masked Flying Santa before creating the background with Distress inks – I’ve tried brayering (is that even a word?) but just can’t get on with it, so stick with my DI.  I didn’t quite get the sky blending soft enough between the blues, but I was pleased with the ‘snow’.  This card happens to fit the following challenges -

Charisma Cardz – It’s in the Stars
Stamp Something – Christmas in July
Stamptacular Sunday – Animal Antics (polar bear and reindeer!)
Secret Crafter – Holidays (bit cheeky but it doesn’t say it has to be summer holidays!)
Sir Stampalot – Anything Goes

I also made a CAS card. Over at Less is More the theme this week is Circles so these baubles fit right in -
SD532523
The circles and bauble ‘tops’ are separate on the stamp sheet so the circles can be used on their own but here I've just done the obvious traditional thing  - stamped with kaleidercolour multi coloured ink pad (fruitcake) – 3d’d the third bauble and added some hanging thread and squiggles round the edge by hand.  There is a little stickles on the bottom of each bauble but it doesn’t really show on here. As well as Less is More I’m sharing this at  -

Allsorts – Free and Easy
Inspire Me Fridays – always anything goes

Well – as much as I’ve enjoyed playing with these gorgeous stamps, I think that’s more than enough Christmas for now and I probably won’t be doing anymore til at least November !! Hope you’ve had a good weekend (weather here’s been horrid!) and thanks for stopping by…..Esther xx

The Stamp Addicts show introducing these stamps and many others just as lovely is on Create and Craft on 22nd July @ 10:00am.
