Beach Bliss

I've had a lovely afternoon creating a new scrapbook layout - this time the holiday photos are slightly more recent from 2014. I'm not scrapping my photos in order, just picking ones that fit the ideas I have.

I was inspired by several challenges for this layout - the colours, brush script and wood texture in the beautiful mood board over at Jotmagazine were my starting point,

The sea theme at That's Crafty and lyrics from Mika's  'Staring at the Sun' (one of the songs at Scrap it with a song) led me to the photograph and Another Freaking Scrap challenge prompted the use of the word Wonderful.

I started with wood grain paper and added a wash of gesso, stamped some script and splattered some ink around. Once the background was dry, I layered up more patterned paper and some strips of washi tape.

The title is hand painted - my first attempt at this style, needs some work but I'm happy enough with it.  The flowers are stamped and painted and there's a couple of other stamped images layered in there too. Little dots of Nuvo Crystals add the finishing touches.

I have the week off work so am looking forward to some more scrapping time tomorrow.....Thanks for stopping by...Esther xx
