This was for challenge 3 from Saturday - Colour blocking. I actually still had a colour block template which I used a lot about ..oh...ten years ago, but I found it buried at the bottom of my stencil pile so used it to design the placing for this page.
I then tried to update this old technique by creating some mixed media panels in three of the spaces
I used transparent texture paste through different stencils, once dry I blended distress inks over and then added stamping before finishing off with embellishments.
For the other 'blocks' I layered up patterned papers and photos and the added some embellishments.I guess it's kind of like a project life page without the pockets. As well as linking to Shimelles's blog I'm sharing this over at -
