The Mirror Crack'd - Masks

I can't believe it's time for my second challenge as part of the Mirror Crack'd team already, thanks for all your lovely entries to my Canvas challenge. The theme this month is Masks. This could be fancy dress type masks,  traditional masking with two or more stamps and/or masks/stencils. We are hosted by the lovely Susanne and this time we are thrilled to be sponsored by -

With a prize of £12.00 to spend at your favourite Woodware Stockist, either in store or on line.

Woodware are a Yorkshire based family owned business, as well as distributing Dreamweaver Stencils and Stampendous Stamps we have a wonderful range of stamps designed for us by Francoise Read and Jane Gill. We also scour the world for new and innovative products for the crafty card maker, and have a great range of punches and tools of the trade, to find stockists in your area or to see the range visit the websitewww.woodware.co.uk.

I had never made a mask before so this was a completely new area for me but I loved it !

I started with a cheap plastic mask and used it as a mould with Modroc casting plaster

Once the plaster was dry I glued on manuscript, book paper and twirls of string

I painted all of this with a layer of Gesso.

The next stage was to add distress inks and paint the twirls and additional details

The final detail was to add some white painted highlights and perfect pearls dots

I really hope you join in with our challenge and look forward to visiting your blogs to see what you create, don't forget to pop over and visit my talented team mates too....Happy Crafting...Esther xx
