The return of Mr Mojo - Long Post warning !!

I always consider Crafting to be my way of relaxing. But over the last few months I have to admit I've been struggling to find motivation and inspiration and haven't done anything much other than my DT samples.  I'm wondering though if, rather than finding relaxation by crafting, I've been too tired and stressed to craft. Anyone else ever found that ? This last week though I had some time off work - wasn't going away, didn't really have any plans, just had a week off.....by the time I reached Friday I was feeling chilled and rejuvenated and over the weekend spent hours at my craft desk, creating, playing, getting inky and messy :-) ! I'm so relieved, was beginning to wonder if I'd lost my Mojo completely ! This is one of the things I made -

It started off life as a plain sheet of A4 hammered cream card which I layered some moulding paste on through a sequin waste stencil and gave the painty treatment on my Gelli plate (both sides)
You can see the score lines on this pic - and I also trimmed the edges that hadn't quite been got by the paint.
Close up of the textures - I coloured some Golden Bead Gel with distress re-inker in Dusty Concord and perfect pearls before applying through a doily stencil - it's a bit messy, I haven't done this much so need to practice !
I added a strip of folded card down each side which I scored using the same spacing as the bottom.
..and of course I had to add some stamping. I'm using my new folder to keep some part completed tags in
AND THEN - I had some coloured bead gel left over so I used another stencil and applied to a tag  (you can just see poking out above) later in the day I finished it off -
Was happier with stencilling on this one. I applied Distress stains over the bead gel, then stamped the feather (Stampendous)  with 'Waterfall' Big and Juicy ink pad, the peacock is stamped in the same ink. I loved the background so much I didn't want to put too much else on it. Phew...still with me, well done! I've loved my creative weekend and am sharing my creativity in a few challenges -

  5. Gorgeous new wallet. I so know how you have been feeling my own mojo fell off a cliff a year ago and for months in fact up until quite recently it was just commitments and nothing more. For me it followed a period of hypa activity and I put it down to that. We are creative people and can take from this the comfort that every dry spell comes to an end.

Your wallet and tags is really inspiring, no listing this evening perhaps I'll have a little play! XOXO

  16. I'm on a few DT's and do find that crafting for them takes over sometimes so I try and do all my Dt work at the beginning of month so I have some time left over for 'me' crafting. It's good that you are feeling better now though and your creation is stunning - thanks for joining us this week at MMM - Jacqueline xx
