Fashionable Journalling

So - I think we have quite a challenging challenge for you all over at Fashionable Stamping this fortnight. I know it took several of us way out of our comfort zone so please be brave and join us in sharing some 'Journalling style' creativity. As always our fab team have some great inspiration on the challenge site, as well as a gorgeous piece from our guest Kate Crane - you can find more ideas on her blog here.  Here is my journalling effort -

It's the first page in my book journal - the cover of which you can see here. I'm going to create pages inspired by some of the books I read and having just recently finished 'To Kill a Mocking Bird' here is where I started. It really is one of those books everyone should read at some point.  I've used inspiration from the book cover and painted a tree, stamped some leaves and created the background with distress stains, bubblewrap printing and a polka dot stamp.

On the right I've stamped a text border and those Time Holtz birds. The title strip is inked with distress inks and dylusions ink spray, flicked with water and then stamped and embossed with the birds on a wire. Our generous sponsor is Flonzcraft and you can win a voucher to spend on their wide range of rubber stamps, and don't forget that we do need to see stamping on your entry. I look forward to visiting your journalling projects..Esther xx

  5. Wonderful journal page, Esther! Love how you based it around reading material you enjoy! Quite clever! I was one also out of my comfort zone and I suppose it is because I don't know "what do you journal about?" I have never kept a journal or a diary! Enjoy the Sunday!
