Maypole ! Yes I know it’s a couple of months early, but this is my entry for this fortnights Alpha Challenge at The Craft Barn. The letter was obviously M but with a twist in that we had to choose a word that falls between Ma – Me. It took me a while to decide what to do but here is my page in the dream dictionary I’m altering -
The background is painted with acrylic paint, I drew the maypole and ribbons and painted these with acrylic paint also. The dancing children, flowers and bird stamps are all from Stamp Addicts.
In dreams a Maypole may represent the ‘dance’ which one goes through when coming to terms with one’s own universe. It is the central pole of the world we create for ourselves, it may be a symbol of celebration, of new life or of masculine spirituality and life giving energy.
I wrote some ‘dance’ themed quotes on the ribbons before adding glossy accents – and crackle accents to the pole for some texture. I really enjoyed creating this page – especially as it was cold and snowy today – the bright colours made me hopeful for spring ! As well as the Alpha Challenge I’m sharing my page at -
