Inky, messy fun

I have had such a lovely time today getting all inky and messy. For the first time in ages I had time to have a trawl through my fav challenge sites and have a play at my craft desk, and here’s the result -

SD533522

This is my fav sentiment stamp at the moment – courtesy of Tim Holtz, and I’ve teamed it with this Kanban lighthouse stamp, my thinking was that lighthouses guide ships through a storm !  I first created a ‘beachy’ background with distress stains, Distress inks, perfect pearls mist and Adirondack colour wash, and my own Distress re-inker spritz. I stamped shells with walnut stain DI and used my paper distresser round the edges. I stamped the lighthouse scene on tissue paper and used Ranger ‘glue N seal’ to blend it into the background before painting with DI and some white paint.

SD533520

The sentiment is stamped on sticky back canvas, which I first coloured with distress stains then frayed before sticking onto contrasting card. The umbrella is shrink plastic, hand drawn and coloured with Pro-Markers.

I’m sharing in these challenges -

Fashionable Stamping – Messy and inky

Sentimental Sundays – Rough around the edges

Artful Times – A mode of transport (sailing ship)

The Stamp Man – Anything goes/Summer colours

Unruly PaperArts 1 – Beautiful Beach

Happy Daze – Summer Holiday
