Hi all, last week was an exhausting week at work and this weekend I was so tired my mojo was seriously lacking when it came to my craft room...I didn't do anything yesterday at all. But today I was determined not to miss out on the last couple of weeks of the Compendium of Curiosities challenge. I have loved this challenge which is hosted by Linda at 'Studio L3' though I have missed some weeks through lack of necessary tools/ingredients, and, like this week have had to use a little artistic licence sometimes! Well anyway, this idea has been humming about in my head since I saw that this week was P56 but it nearly didn't happen when I couldn't find my metal sheets....half an hour of searching drawers and folders later (and a few naughty words)...this card began..
I've used a burgundy base card which you can't see that well, and applied distress inks (antique linen, Old paper and Frayed Burlap) to cream card whihc I then mounted on Gold. After cutting the die cut flourishes and flowers I used the 'left overs' to sponge through onto the background. The flowers are die cut from metal sheet before embossing in an embossing folder. Then coloured as per P56!
As well as the challenge at Studio L3, I'm entering this at Allsorts - Make your own flowers, The Stamp Man - 'Curls and Swirls' and Gingersnaps Creations Colour - 'Jewels plus Gold'
I also wanted to enter the challenge at 'Less is More'. a new blog which I have been looking at but hadn't got round to entering til now so I made a CAS card using the inspiration colours from The Play Date Cafe and the Less is More recipe of 3 Squares. I coloured the Penny Black image with Pro-markers, cut with a nestie and added faux stitching. The second square is a lace pattern stamped in distress inks.
This card is heading over to challenges at - The Play Date Cafe - Challenge 70', Penny Black Saturday - Lace and Pearls, Stamp Something - Flowers, I love Promarkers - stitching, Less is More - three squares,
Well, I'm stilll tired, but a more relaxed satisfied tired having done a little much needed therapeutic crafting...any excuse to ignore the housework I say! Thanks for looking - Esther xx
I'm glad you managed to get around to joining in one of our challenges!
