All you Need is Love...

Goodness me..I can't believe we're only a week away from February...my time seems to have been eaten up over the last few weeks with no spare moments for much crafting or blogging at all, not that I would of been much good as Mr Mojo seemed to be taking a rest after all the madness of Christmas card making! This weekend though I was determined to make some 'me' time and get back in the zone so set about browsing challenge blogs and perusing all the great spaces of other crafters for inspiration!  I was lucky enough to get some Pro-Markers (my first) for Christmas  and I have been having a play with them and combined with some new stamps I picked up in the Jan Sales I came up with this card -  
I still need to practice with my pens but I was quite pleased with this attempt. One of me New Year's resolutions was to make an effort to actually use some of the paper I have stashed rather than just looking and stroking..so this is Die Cuts with a View and some hand made embossed paper I have had forever. I distressed the paper edges before adding faux stitching (oh for a little sewing machine!) and layering. The cute Hedgehogs are of course Penny Black and the sentiment is one of a set from Personal Impressions (another sale bargain - I cut the words apart to use side by side as 'with' was originally above 'love' ). 


I didn't have any red flowers so out came Cosmic Shimmer 'red lava' and what were pale pink roses are now a glorious shimmery red (as are most of my fingers!). I found a whole host of challenges for this card - Penny Black @Allsorts - 'All you Need is love',  Penny Black Saturday - 'January Sales', Let's Ink It up -'Anything goes', Secret Crafter Saturday -'It's a couple thing', Stamp Something - 'Cute somethings' and finally now that I have some I can join in at Passion for Pro-markers - 'All you need is love'

    It looks like you are getting on well with your Promarkers - a beautifully coloured image.

    I love how the scallops around your image match the scallops around the flowers on your backing paper.

    I love everything about your card Esther. The faux stitching compliments the stitching on the background paper and I love the sweet little tufts of grass you have drawn.     Now that was a very brave move on your part, cutting and not stroking, a really toughie decison there.

    Seriously though, a really pretty card and the roses turned out a beautiful vibrant red. I tend to buy mainly white flowers now and colour them with shimmers or Copics.

    Such an adorable card Esther! Love those cute hedgies,and I think your coloring looks fabulous. Great sketch too and I love your faux stitching! What a great idea to use the shimmer to color your flowers, I have to remember that as it seems like I never have the matching embellishments!
