Back to what I love best..

Well, since starting my blog  I've been exploring others and tried some different styles to fit in with challenges and just have a go, but today I've gone back to what I really love to do best which is to get messy with my inks and stamps. I really enjoy playing and experimenting without a fixed idea in my head and seeing what turns out! I've created three pieces for the challenges on GingerSnap Creations

For this tag I used a chipboard shape, painted with scattered straw distress crackle paint and then inked with worn lipstick, aged mahogany and walnut stain, I stamped on it too with a stamp from Elusive Images  Butterfly Poppy collage theme plate and I've also used some flowers from this set at the bottom.  The other stamps are from Aspect of Designs (Gardening) and Hero Arts.  I made the flower from some felt and gold angel paper, the idea for the fibres and beads came from a gorgeous flower made by Annette on her blog (Netty's Craftings) so I hope she doesn't mind me using it.

2 - Random Redhead Challenge  - Fairies

I love fairies and this stamp from Personal Impressions is really pretty.  The background is made on glossy card by applying distress inks to my craft sheet, spritzing with a little water and 'smooshing' the paper around on it  -  that's a technical term that! After that I applied distress inks with the applicator and stamped til I was happy. I painted the fairy, added some cut out stamped flowers, the sentiment and some stickles and gems for a little bling. Stamps used were -
Fairy - Personal Impressions
Tall floral, edge swirls and sentiment - Hampton Art
Cut out flowers - Elusive Images
Music - Stampendous
Script - Hero Arts

3 - Spicy Supply Challenge -transparencies
This one is my favourate, I really love how the colours came out.  The main background is created with alcohol inks on glossy card, stamped with 'Butterfly Background' by Chapel Road Stamps in Olive Green Stazon.  The gold embossed border is a Hero Arts stamp.  I've added a torn strip of acetate stamped with flowers from  Elusive Images Butterfly Poppy collage theme plate. The cut out Butterflies stamped on gold in Olive green Stazon are from this set also. The final touch was the script also from the Elusive Images set stamped in Gold Stazon (this ink pad is fantastic!!).
Thanks for looking, off to tidy up the desk- not long till WOYWW and I'd be ashamed for mine to be seen at the moment!! Esther
