Craft Room Flowers

I really enjoyed visiting your travel/postcard themed creations for our Craft-room challenge, made a nice change from Christmas cards !!

Our new challenge is for you to make your own flowers which was Hazel's choice. Here is what she has to say -

"For this fortnight's challenge I have chosen Hand Made Flowers. You can make anything eg. a card, tag, altered art, canvas as long as your work has a flower/flowers on it that you have made yourself. Your flowers can be made of any material eg. paper, card, fabric, the flowers on my card have been made with paper doilies. I'm looking forward to seeing all your lovely flowers. Have fun."

I love making my own flowers and have several favourite techniques but thought I'd try a new one for this challenge. I took inspiration from Craft Stamper magazine and used some chiffon fabric, cut with scalloped Nesties in a couple of sizes and held over a candle to shrivel and curl the edges. I finished off by gluing some beads in the centres.
This is the card I made which was for my niece Amy's 21st birthday.  This is a very special occasion as Amy was diagnosed with Leukaemia when she was nine and the fact we are now celebrating her 21st is extra special.
So take a break from those wintery festive cards and share some flowery, pretty creations with us over at Craft-Room Challenge. You can win a £10.00 voucher to spend in the online shop and we also have blog candy up for grabs. Look forward to visiting you..Esther xx

I sometime cut leaves from hessian with Nesties, but never thought of doing the same with finer fabrics, must give it a try. Thanks for the inspirations.
