This first one uses a beautiful Penny Black stamp which I've stamped and embossed in silver and then stamped again behind. The colour wash behind is Distress stains in weathered wood and milled lavender. Less is More this week wanted to see double so I'm entering this over there as well as at Penny Black At Allsorts who are challenging us to get ahead for Christmas.
I then went for bright colours and followed the sketch at Waltzing mouse sketch challenge and made this card. As I'm determined to continue with my Christmas card I'm looking for a festive spin for every challenge I fancy having a go at and this stamp from Waltzing Mouse made me think of Christmas lights so I've used my pro- markers to colour and added some glossy accents. For some reason the red has shown as more orange on the photo but it is a bright Chrismtas red IRL.
Thanks for visiting...I love reading your comments so please let me know what you think. Always grateful for tips...Esther xx

ReplyDeleteI'm pretty rubbish at post titles as well Asther, I get the post all done then sit looking into space for inspiration - yesterday was a pretty sad one - Gnome Time - no guessing there were some SA gnomes there.
ReplyDeleteBack to your card and I really love the echo effect of the doves and such lovely subtle colouring. Second card is great as well, the lights look almost illuminated.
Thank you for joining in at Penny Black at Allsorts this month and good luck.

When looked at the thumbnail picture on the blog, I was wondering if those were Christmas light images inside of your doily "wreath"...so COOL how you colored them to look just like that! A very fun and creative card, and I just love the way you used this week's sketch. Fabulous job!
ReplyDeleteThese are just lovely, but that first one really caught my eye. TFS!

Hi Esther
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice to see you back with us again for another of our challenges at Penny Black at Allsorts. Two lovely clean and simple cards. I love them but struggle to make any. I have a fear of white space when making my own cards but love what other people make. My craftung friends think I am very odd and try to get me to go for it but alas it has not happened yet.
Thank you for sharing your cards with us and good luck in the prize draw.
Shirley
Love the serene CAS card Esther, it's very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for sharing with us at Penny Black at Allsorts.

I think both cards are just fabulous. The doves are so soft and subtle - lovely.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I just adore your Christmas lights - I would never have thought of this - but it's brilliant!
What a great idea! You've really reinvented that stamp for me!
ReplyDeleteSuper pretty cards. If you get more creative with your blog title please let me know your secrets. I always have a hard time with mine. Have a nice Friday, Hugs, Kim
