I don't do Orange...

...I really don't! I struggled like mad with this card for The Play Date Cafe challenge this week. The inspiration photo is gorgeous, blending the colours perfectly but as soon as I tried to add anything remotely orangey to my design I hated it!So my finished card has only the tiniest border of orange and even then I added faded burlap to tone it down a bit.
This is also my entry to the final week of Linda's Compendium of Curiosities challenge, which is design details. Without a pokey tool or design ruler I had some very sore fingers by the time I'd finished 'sewing' with the copper wire and wasn't at all sure about it till I put it together, but I kind of like it.  I've used Midnight Blue Stazon on a Crafty individuals stamp (a newly purchased E-bay bargain!) on a piece of glossy card coloured with alcohol inks. The Blue card base I've stamped with etched rose background from Rubber Stampede also in Midnight Blue. I'm also entering this at Simon Says Stamp and Show where the theme is metal.  Well I have a poorly other half coughing away in the other room waiting for his dinner so better be off, thanks for stopping by , Esther xx

  2. Esther, it's absolutely beautiful! The orange border is beautiful-- just enough sunshine without overpowering the gentle design within. I love the way you composed this lovely work of art, and your wire stitching is awesome!

Thanks so much for being a wonderful part of the CCC! It's been a joy getting to know you and admiring your art, and I hope very much that you'll stick around for the next chapter!
