WOYWW - Christmas free this week!

Hi - just a quick post today (phew I hear you sigh!!) - not enough hours in the day!! This is my blurry desk (well the desk isn't blurry but the photo is a bit - what do they say less haste more speed or something- never get that right!)
Anyway - I am busy making Butterflies for my nieces table plan for her wedding in a few weeks - they match the ones we made for her invitations earlier in the year (that was before I joined the world of blogging so you haven't seen them)

This is a strip of Fantasy film (Aurora and Spring Morning layered together), placed carefully over an inked stamp (Aspects of Design inked with Royal Purple Stazon) with a sheet of parchment over the top then ironed with my encaustic art iron - though any non steam iron will do the job.

And then cut out....here is Butterfly number one complete  - only 14 left to go. At least she didn't need sixty this time like we did for the invites!!

Going for a pamper at the hairdressers after work today so will have even less time to hop around desks by the time I get home...but at least I'll look less of a mess doing it!! Happy WOYWW everyone...Esther xx

  7. lovely butterfly - and fuzzy focus? - I have A Very NICe Nikon d80 - and occasionally I take the time to do 'proper' manual exposures - then reset to totally auto matic and get lazy - any hoo - I really wanted a manual underexposure on holiday last week so pushed up my sunnies and set the camera to totally manual, set exposure time, set aperture, could I get the b&&&er to focus - could I heck as like - so I - said to my son - 'why can't I focus it' - he said 'Mum they are not your Sunnies on your head - they are your proper glasses - you are blind And Stupid - but we love you." shame....

  23. These butterflies are gorgeous. Leave it to you to tackle a huge project. I love the colors you have used, too. Sorry I'm late getting here, but I managed to contract a computer virus. It's still not fixed, but I had to make sure I wasn't infecting anyone. So I'm wishing you WOYWW on Friday night!

  24. Well by now you'll be used to being a woman with new hair, I love my 6 weekly tidy up! The butterflies are so nice - ethereal and floaty - and you really are showing off your patience..even 14 would be 13 too many for me!!
