3-D

Hi - well it's Sunday again which means some crafty time for me.  After a quick trip out to see the in-laws I got down to this little box which I'm entering into the Gingersnaps Creations Random Redhead Challenge: Go 3D . The blank is one of a set I've had for ever from IKEA - they fit inside each other, each a little smaller than the last and are really bright colours - this one started off almost flourescent yellow!!

Armed with alcohol inks I got to work covering the box using a couple of different colours and some gold metallic mixative. Once it was covered  I stamped and embossed in gold - using an acrylic stamp but no stamping block so I could shape it to the surface, it's fiddly but I was  pleased with the result.
Then it was just a matter of decorating the top. I stamped and embossed the circle and then made the butterfly with some scraps of fantasy fibres before adding some paper flowers coloured with distress inks and some little gems for added bling! I finished off with a ribbon round the edge of the box lid. I think I could of just made my first Christmas present !!
