I never do pages about myself and this one is pretty straight forward, a collection of things I love and things I love to do.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KcNRve9IKKo/WtOt2zsRSuI/AAAAAAAAFpk/wnkjBVVLka0nO3N0NmyzUnDRcDqVL1z4wCLcBGAs/s1600/Photo%2B15-04-2018%252C%2B17%2B35%2B46.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KcNRve9IKKo/WtOt2zsRSuI/AAAAAAAAFpk/wnkjBVVLka0nO3N0NmyzUnDRcDqVL1z4wCLcBGAs/s640/Photo%2B15-04-2018%252C%2B17%2B35%2B46.jpg" width="638" /></a></div>
I started with a Cut File which I have adapted slightly from the original, backed each 'Polaroid' with patterned paper, filled one with a selfie, one with my star sign and the others with things that I love.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MZmTJdJC4O0/WtOt5Mzz0HI/AAAAAAAAFps/E_Booi3pIx8qoroL6ibCYSyKaRJvsgWMQCLcBGAs/s1600/Photo%2B15-04-2018%252C%2B17%2B37%2B00.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MZmTJdJC4O0/WtOt5Mzz0HI/AAAAAAAAFps/E_Booi3pIx8qoroL6ibCYSyKaRJvsgWMQCLcBGAs/s640/Photo%2B15-04-2018%252C%2B17%2B37%2B00.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
The images are all cut on my silhouette too and I have heat embossed the Gemini symbol and music swirl with glitter embossing powder, coloured the paint palette, coffee and ice cream with distress inks and added Nuvo drops.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WQHc-VLRpRc/WtOt4Rf9y8I/AAAAAAAAFpo/355naG46pogJOJZdCccaocczYktC5ifQgCLcBGAs/s1600/Photo%2B15-04-2018%252C%2B17%2B36%2B30.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WQHc-VLRpRc/WtOt4Rf9y8I/AAAAAAAAFpo/355naG46pogJOJZdCccaocczYktC5ifQgCLcBGAs/s640/Photo%2B15-04-2018%252C%2B17%2B36%2B30.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
As well as <a href="http://scrap-the-girls.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Scrap the Girls</a> I'm, also sharing this over on <a href="http://kcclayoutchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">'Lasting Memories'</a> where the challenge is to use at least four patterned papers (I've used six). Thanks for stopping by...Happy Crafting...Esther xxEstherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08101761329671975771noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6899524468412715475.post-87203269103024694952018-04-02T08:00:00.000+01:002018-04-02T08:00:25.407+01:00Be Inspired by GoGo Getaway....<div style="text-align: justify;">
My GoGo Getaway Team mates have just returned from another fabulous weekend retreat and while I couldn't join them I was inspired by the challenges they set for the delegates over the weekend and was able to make some of my own layouts and here they are - </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MJwpG2d0NZU/WrlDe5wU4yI/AAAAAAAAFok/CEf4R6jE3s0AodXwuB8_97swOD6P9u61gCLcBGAs/s1600/four.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MJwpG2d0NZU/WrlDe5wU4yI/AAAAAAAAFok/CEf4R6jE3s0AodXwuB8_97swOD6P9u61gCLcBGAs/s640/four.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="text-decoration-line: underline;"><strong>Inspired by Lorraine's colours</strong></span> - the bright, gorgeous colours chosen by Lorraine were just perfect for a Gelatos rainbow background behind my black and white photo. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6J4ttIJlOl0/WrlB_CdfS4I/AAAAAAAAFoA/YsXlbsezcQEQYFRCegJoOj-LeFhd7ub9wCLcBGAs/s1600/Footer1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6J4ttIJlOl0/WrlB_CdfS4I/AAAAAAAAFoA/YsXlbsezcQEQYFRCegJoOj-LeFhd7ub9wCLcBGAs/s640/Footer1.jpg" width="614" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="text-decoration-line: underline;"><strong>Inspired by Niki's scraplift</strong></span> - I added fussy cut butterflies over a mixed media background for these cute photos of my nieces (now grown up and mummy's themselves!!) in their ballet costumes ready for a performance !<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TQ1BrwBup8k/WrlB_fb3JQI/AAAAAAAAFoE/s6kBdi7nqZo8D_Q9NUy_NMaA3gIxBxYgwCLcBGAs/s1600/Footer2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TQ1BrwBup8k/WrlB_fb3JQI/AAAAAAAAFoE/s6kBdi7nqZo8D_Q9NUy_NMaA3gIxBxYgwCLcBGAs/s640/Footer2.jpg" width="614" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="text-decoration-line: underline;"><strong>Inspired by Nancy's quote</strong></span> - I used my new sketch pens to write the quote around the edge and draw the camera, which I then coloured by hand - I love vintage photos and thought Nancy's quote was perfect for this of my mum and Grandma and their friends. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BPX9tH9_DEU/WrlB_R0ckeI/AAAAAAAAFoI/84uVx5AY0MwToI4HY_fu4Noj90dbibQlwCLcBGAs/s1600/Footer3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BPX9tH9_DEU/WrlB_R0ckeI/AAAAAAAAFoI/84uVx5AY0MwToI4HY_fu4Noj90dbibQlwCLcBGAs/s640/Footer3.jpg" width="614" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong><span style="text-decoration-line: underline;">Inspired by Lisa's Shape (House)</span> </strong>- I back filled a cut file before layering onto some background paper and adding embellishments to the photos we took of our house being built!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sUrRVuQuNKU/WrlCAxK3qAI/AAAAAAAAFoM/_9PLJJ0OJhQpYA02AU5-7fd95SpSuNLRQCLcBGAs/s1600/Footer4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sUrRVuQuNKU/WrlCAxK3qAI/AAAAAAAAFoM/_9PLJJ0OJhQpYA02AU5-7fd95SpSuNLRQCLcBGAs/s640/Footer4.jpg" width="614" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here are the Be Inspired by challenges I used - the rest of the team also set some great inspiration, keep an eye on the GoGo Getaway blog this month to see their layouts. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Of-R_cIs5cU/WrlFrfOkuvI/AAAAAAAAFow/djCRYtUKXI4NoMMPPL4aQiGAAtSoWc30QCLcBGAs/s1600/four%2Bchallenges.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Of-R_cIs5cU/WrlFrfOkuvI/AAAAAAAAFow/djCRYtUKXI4NoMMPPL4aQiGAAtSoWc30QCLcBGAs/s640/four%2Bchallenges.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

I love using sketches and challenge inspiration, especially when I've been busy and ideas aren't flowing on their own, and as time is short I like to combine challenges to get the most out of the time I have to spend creating. I've also decided I need to stop hording and to just use stuff so today I broke into the gorgeous new More Than Words collection from Cocoa Vanilla.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2v8PKnrssQs/Wq7HxyO4wMI/AAAAAAAAFnc/5P_DoiYqS_Mrz2i7faIOggvV5-vnW14aQCLcBGAs/s1600/Photo%2B18-03-2018%252C%2B18%2B40%2B23.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2v8PKnrssQs/Wq7HxyO4wMI/AAAAAAAAFnc/5P_DoiYqS_Mrz2i7faIOggvV5-vnW14aQCLcBGAs/s640/Photo%2B18-03-2018%252C%2B18%2B40%2B23.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
I've used the March 15th sketch from <a href="http://stucksketches.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Stuck?!</a> and blended distress inks over background of stencilled texture paste. I've been quite literal with my interpretation of the sketch.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="318" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiw7nGg5s6dUXsa0r8IWoX8jEOrm_cFkYMeSqwGGT7oZW6zOiSDNrvECBdtv0fAN4nCIbDt44UhqjYB1Gqi8BqPVnGgAdFWvnw2WQL1BRtvEI_ms_UX5H4b82jq2168SIBENw9gGlXaPWF/s320/a3+March+15+2018+-+Stuck+Sketches_preview.jpeg" width="320" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I then took the recipe challenge from the Hey Little Magpie facebook group -</div>
<br /><div style="text-align: center;">
1 single square photo (any size) </div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A selection of papers including the colours aqua and yellow </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
At least one camera icon</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
More than one style of letter stickers </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A sprinkle of stars or dots</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now I love aqua and pink together but am not a big fan of yellow so this was a tough one for me but luckily the More Than Words collection includes some beautiful yellow flowers which I fussy cut. I also used yellow and aqua paper in my layering and there are hearts in both colours on the tab top piece. I wrote the recipe down wrong and just had two types of letters on my list so am hoping my bramble fox perspective and wood veneer words count. The cute camera is fussy cut from Simple Stories 'I Am' paper. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CdUQSLRgUTY/Wq7HzYy0BaI/AAAAAAAAFng/GjaF6ITqDzYDTXCavYqOIydSyBPQABzOwCLcBGAs/s1600/Photo%2B18-03-2018%252C%2B18%2B40%2B40.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CdUQSLRgUTY/Wq7HzYy0BaI/AAAAAAAAFng/GjaF6ITqDzYDTXCavYqOIydSyBPQABzOwCLcBGAs/s640/Photo%2B18-03-2018%252C%2B18%2B40%2B40.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

I love vintage and this gorgeous photo of my great Nephew was perfect for a vintage layout using Carta Bella - Old World Travel range. I started with a cut file which I stitched and backed before smooshing some ink. . </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8EXPlh1WDiY/WomGcFcjSqI/AAAAAAAAFmI/0qgHp_RO0vg1M9uD4Ow3sjfcgRU2b0-BACLcBGAs/s1600/Photo%2B18-02-2018%252C%2B13%2B26%2B19.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8EXPlh1WDiY/WomGcFcjSqI/AAAAAAAAFmI/0qgHp_RO0vg1M9uD4Ow3sjfcgRU2b0-BACLcBGAs/s640/Photo%2B18-02-2018%252C%2B13%2B26%2B19.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I layered up the photo with lots of Ephemera from Tim Holtz</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It's been a while since I posted, been a hectic couple of months, but I'm sharing a layout today inspired by a few current challenges. I'm currently working on old photos - this one from a birthday BBQ back in 2003! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QJhDBeuuAhM/WncyWcaQJlI/AAAAAAAAFlk/iQvaQ7EhrXkfHdZK4Hqsk2U_69pGvpJEACLcBGAs/s1600/Photo%2B04-02-2018%252C%2B14%2B50%2B16.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="636" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QJhDBeuuAhM/WncyWcaQJlI/AAAAAAAAFlk/iQvaQ7EhrXkfHdZK4Hqsk2U_69pGvpJEACLcBGAs/s640/Photo%2B04-02-2018%252C%2B14%2B50%2B16.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I started with the sketch over at <a href="http://stucksketches.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Stuck?! Sketches</a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="319" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRsbPJdyGfEDx10sRTBCn_OJHEo0iN9EiVhy1ziM5EzK5tuer-YWlRR2xIrfyunOuQLn83XNANoLce8SnwmNcJ0Wy9eEB88VY0BHUf3OoBAStO_KM6TyLEc-eM_KQh-wq7SJ1FCXlXa-pR/s320/a2+February+1+2018+-+stuck+sketches.JPG" width="320" /></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
then went out of my comfort zone using the first Stash Busting prompt on <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/285155941853521/search/?query=Stash%20Busting%20Challenge" target="_blank">Lottie Loves Paper Community & kits FB </a>page which is wood</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="No automatic alt text available." height="320" src="https://scontent.flhr3-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/27336518_10156358076629750_3304099785617219731_n.jpg?oh=26b90e683f2594bf1705345fd18409f5&oe=5AE564DC" width="320" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and then the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/1074181915950949/" target="_blank">Hey Little Magpie FB challeng</a>e for February - use something weird.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qPsZpjHQMJA/WncyW3TuSMI/AAAAAAAAFlo/6An8kIZIIIYgjgcebSePLzq1m24eQk3KwCLcBGAs/s1600/Photo%2B04-02-2018%252C%2B14%2B53%2B52.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qPsZpjHQMJA/WncyW3TuSMI/AAAAAAAAFlo/6An8kIZIIIYgjgcebSePLzq1m24eQk3KwCLcBGAs/s320/Photo%2B04-02-2018%252C%2B14%2B53%2B52.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My 'weird' is dry wall tape - sold in DIY stores it creates great texture on a page especially when colour is added over the top, on my page I used Gelatos and Shimmerz Creameez in Witches Blue to create the background. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6ULytjyYNDg/WncyXqKsnoI/AAAAAAAAFls/XNko--DpEHsorpT-sq89H1kFpIE8s-stwCLcBGAs/s1600/Photo%2B04-02-2018%252C%2B14%2B54%2B13.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6ULytjyYNDg/WncyXqKsnoI/AAAAAAAAFls/XNko--DpEHsorpT-sq89H1kFpIE8s-stwCLcBGAs/s320/Photo%2B04-02-2018%252C%2B14%2B54%2B13.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I've a long way to go to catch up with my scrapping - hope to be back with more soon..Happy Creating...Esther xxEstherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08101761329671975771noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6899524468412715475.post-37038922059556146512017-12-10T20:31:00.001+00:002017-12-10T20:31:16.663+00:00Christmas catch upWell - I have some years worth of Christmas photographs to catch up scrapbooking so I took a break from December daily today and used a couple of challenges for inspiration to create a layout using a photo of my family at Christmas in 2003.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
First of all I grabbed the five items listed in the online Scrappy Advent over on the For the Love of pretty Paper Facebook group. These were - Flair, Ink Spray, 6x6 paper pad, Glitter Washi, Black Thickers, and the technique is stitching. I've used the 6x6 paper pad to cut down pieces for my layering and used the ink sprays with some plastic packaging to smoosh over the background. I then <span style="text-align: center;">and added some more items from the tic tac toe challenge at <a href="http://kcclayoutchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Lasting Memories</a> choosing the right column - Glitter/sequins, stars, wood veneer. The wood veneer didn't look right in it's natural state but I really wanted to sue the word so I embossed with silver embossing powder to alter it.</span> I also took the sketch from <a href="http://stucksketches.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Stuck?!</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQrCkpf1S9tCAEfMp0YDto19FY62Bv_Wcvlf0zVdgPZmA5yB2ch9fsKuJHtidYmaLnmJxJJS5zRNkeeAJCS9RorNr_BOwmF2LBTsd1F0Oh0-cgg4GNmCUN3DhUzrWkcMh1ejvu2RZRYxQ/s400/12+december+1+2017+-+Stuck+Sketches.jpg" width="399" /> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
After smooshing the background I layed down strips of washi tape before applying texture paste through a word and then a star stencil. Over this I layered my papers and photo, added my title and some pretty sequins and stars to finish off. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I have a love/hate relationship with social media and the sharing of photos - I worry about children being plastered all over the internet but I do love it when my nieces share photos of their children so I can 'borrrow' and scrap them. On this layout my great Niece is strutting her stuff in mummy's shoes.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zTLzRvtrfmQ/WgBXDwAjJNI/AAAAAAAAFiU/0t_JHEyP_dAnQvz_vh4mifsPGqwgM-AswCLcBGAs/s1600/Photo%2B06-11-2017%252C%2B10%2B42%2B55.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zTLzRvtrfmQ/WgBXDwAjJNI/AAAAAAAAFiU/0t_JHEyP_dAnQvz_vh4mifsPGqwgM-AswCLcBGAs/s640/Photo%2B06-11-2017%252C%2B10%2B42%2B55.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I was firstly inspired by the current challenge over on <a href="http://scrap-the-girls.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">'Scrap the Girls'</a> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg13arQ4OaWThyphenhyphenMr1CtpFkT4mwm05ZrHeTlzJQO7kEyU54AMIiio4D-4U-UOoKarXZ15IHx2lHy004VeGWnF9wK1ir82vbh_HNt_eKNYfWpWNO8VF43zI4WIhfvJ6RsqhIz0RF8m6E-630/s200/Challenge.jpg" width="200" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And then I followed the sketch at<a href="http://stucksketches.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank"> 'Stuck?!</a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="200" src="https://scontent.fybz2-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/22154213_10154877809966039_5732691508267640039_n.jpg?oh=1b6817e07424fffbc93dd055ab331631&oe=5A7C811B" width="200" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-siGphBERN_Y/WgBXR3BSRoI/AAAAAAAAFiY/7ij39ORClTEAFS1vnIDVKrUI376s2JMnwCLcBGAs/s1600/Photo%2B06-11-2017%252C%2B10%2B42%2B27.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-siGphBERN_Y/WgBXR3BSRoI/AAAAAAAAFiY/7ij39ORClTEAFS1vnIDVKrUI376s2JMnwCLcBGAs/s640/Photo%2B06-11-2017%252C%2B10%2B42%2B27.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and finally I loved the pretty colours on the mood board at <a href="http://jotmagazine.com/november-2017-mood-board/" target="_blank">JOT </a>and thought they would work perfectly with my photos. I used pastel Gelatos to add washes of colour in Yellow, Pink and Aqua.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oLE4UR2txIM/WgBUmYSI45I/AAAAAAAAFiI/GITxsD3Ez-8W16HwVPVywjp8hhE19qd9QCLcBGAs/s1600/bc0412e32b1507573733.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="700" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oLE4UR2txIM/WgBUmYSI45I/AAAAAAAAFiI/GITxsD3Ez-8W16HwVPVywjp8hhE19qd9QCLcBGAs/s320/bc0412e32b1507573733.jpg" width="224" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After adding texture paste through a stencil onto top of the Gelatos, I layered up my photos and added fussy cut feathers from Shimelle's little by little paper, embellishments and Nuvo drops.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<span style="color: #333333;">HI - it's my turn to set this months challenge over on the <a href="http://blog.gogo-getaway.co.uk/" target="_blank">GoGo Getaway blog</a> and I've chosen a set of design elements to be used on a Layout. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="Esther's Elements" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-5331" height="400" src="https://bloggogogetaway.files.wordpress.com/2017/09/esthers-elements.jpg?w=1024" width="400" /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #333333;">I have scrapped a photo of Pete and I enjoying a last supper of Fish and Chips the night before we moved house. We were exhausted and excited in equal measures and ate our meal surrounded by packed boxes! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="October challenge" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-5298" height="640" src="https://bloggogogetaway.files.wordpress.com/2017/09/october-challenge.jpg" width="614" /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #333333;">I started by creating a <span style="color: navy;">water colour </span>background on Bazill Marshmallow (love this cardstock for mixed media). I stamped with a <span style="color: navy;">newsprint text</span> background stamp onto vellum and <span style="color: navy;">tore</span> down one edge. I <span style="color: navy;">layered</span> up with Jen hadfield Heart of Home papers and die cuts before adding a little chipboard <span style="color: navy;">fish</span> as my something from the sea. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="Photo 30-09-2017, 15 40 45" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-5299" height="480" src="https://bloggogogetaway.files.wordpress.com/2017/09/photo-30-09-2017-15-40-45.jpg" width="640" /></div>
I fussy cut some of the flowers and branches from the papers to add extra details and layers and stamped the date on a glossy die cut label.<br />
<span style="text-align: justify;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you join us in this challenge & post your layouts on <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/552391421467054/">GoGo Getaway’s Facebook pag</a>e you’ll be in the draw to win £10 to spend at<a href="http://blog.heylittlemagpie.com/"> Hey Little Magpie</a>. I've created a Christmas Layout.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OJDppRWTJ0I/Wa1Qknw1zMI/AAAAAAAAFg8/nBeielvxa4APwkUhOV55hCJN-6yHoiN9wCLcBGAs/s1600/Untitled-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="888" data-original-width="1600" height="354" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OJDppRWTJ0I/Wa1Qknw1zMI/AAAAAAAAFg8/nBeielvxa4APwkUhOV55hCJN-6yHoiN9wCLcBGAs/s640/Untitled-1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I hand stitched the circles for the middle border and added some sequins for a touch of bling.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I do look forward to seeing your layouts.</div>

I recently went to stay with my oldest/bestest school friend and her cat always enjoys being made a fuss of. I made my own cut file which I then filled with patterned paper.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zgiJsJxqp0g/WaRxFL-VWzI/AAAAAAAAFgQ/DaNnnoBSuAgraitF10bfk1NFsYLEbDbLgCLcBGAs/s1600/Photo%2B28-08-2017%252C%2B17%2B55%2B08.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zgiJsJxqp0g/WaRxFL-VWzI/AAAAAAAAFgQ/DaNnnoBSuAgraitF10bfk1NFsYLEbDbLgCLcBGAs/s640/Photo%2B28-08-2017%252C%2B17%2B55%2B08.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
I layered the photos with patterned paper and created a cluster along the top and two smaller ones around the title letters and to the top left. I have had the cat buttons for about 15 years and finally found a use for them. I trimmed the layout and added a doodles border and also a border of patterned paper.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-s6-IAJjWJFM/WZCrxfQOciI/AAAAAAAAFfk/mX_IRBmFYvEZ_jSOkC-xN8uEFQwthPy2gCLcBGAs/s1600/Photo%2B13-08-2017%252C%2B18%2B37%2B52.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-s6-IAJjWJFM/WZCrxfQOciI/AAAAAAAAFfk/mX_IRBmFYvEZ_jSOkC-xN8uEFQwthPy2gCLcBGAs/s640/Photo%2B13-08-2017%252C%2B18%2B37%2B52.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
I used pink letters with polka dots and stuck some 'paws' on. Wooden buttons, brad and Nuvo dots added the finishing touches.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YFKr31rTaMI/WZCr04NItDI/AAAAAAAAFfo/zdCI5gK58nAS7ASeiu8SkhxFLove7EtCgCLcBGAs/s1600/Photo%2B13-08-2017%252C%2B18%2B37%2B30.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YFKr31rTaMI/WZCr04NItDI/AAAAAAAAFfo/zdCI5gK58nAS7ASeiu8SkhxFLove7EtCgCLcBGAs/s640/Photo%2B13-08-2017%252C%2B18%2B37%2B30.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

I have only had my Cameo Silhouette for a few weeks so am still learning but managed to create this hanging hearts design which I have used for a photo of my niece on her wedding day.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mYx5E1Dj6yM/WYiRrpJoRwI/AAAAAAAAFe4/DmVzDBEPsuAPlIQle2_9Mzc2IJkCS2SpwCLcBGAs/s1600/August%2Bbackfill%2Bbackground.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mYx5E1Dj6yM/WYiRrpJoRwI/AAAAAAAAFe4/DmVzDBEPsuAPlIQle2_9Mzc2IJkCS2SpwCLcBGAs/s640/August%2Bbackfill%2Bbackground.jpg" width="614" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used a variety of textured and foiled papers to fill the hearts and added stitching for extra detail. Thanks for stopping by - Happy Crafting...Esther xx</div>

It's time for another double layout sketch over at Stick It Down - and here is my interpretation. </div>

Hi - I took some time out from DT work today to scrap just for me and took inspiration from a couple of challenges to create this monochromatic layout of two of my great nieces. I love how it came out but it was really tricky to photograph.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_VCNPUZLOJ8/WYd1v-m0POI/AAAAAAAAFeg/1aITEYQmq7IbPnEIwcPhrtsMGXl-6MCFwCLcBGAs/s1600/Photo%2B06-08-2017%252C%2B13%2B34%2B37.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_VCNPUZLOJ8/WYd1v-m0POI/AAAAAAAAFeg/1aITEYQmq7IbPnEIwcPhrtsMGXl-6MCFwCLcBGAs/s640/Photo%2B06-08-2017%252C%2B13%2B34%2B37.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
I started with the sketch from <a href="http://stucksketches.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Stuck?! </a>sketch blog and then took the moodboard from <a href="http://scrap-the-girls.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Scrap the Girls</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlfMcM0IWXAZT3Is_WT2pP71vrZCBQdaKpboitwMBWtleyWU8_pPT0XosVnjUv45U2Qic_clqfh4GkjynhrbR2K4LNxSOVs4BE_Kw-m7LqnzqXAHz4Qqyu1jbSEBAWB4i6pYkYCUHxwtI/s1600/August+challenge+2017.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlfMcM0IWXAZT3Is_WT2pP71vrZCBQdaKpboitwMBWtleyWU8_pPT0XosVnjUv45U2Qic_clqfh4GkjynhrbR2K4LNxSOVs4BE_Kw-m7LqnzqXAHz4Qqyu1jbSEBAWB4i6pYkYCUHxwtI/s320/August+challenge+2017.jpg" width="296" /></a><img height="320" src="https://scontent.fybz2-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/17626296_10154297910586039_9061658356152878465_n.jpg?oh=dd1d6d0d693faaa429296d201f3dc35c&oe=59EDE065" width="320" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I used distress inks and sprays to create a soft, water colour background over which I stamped and applied texture past through a leaf stencil. Once all this was dry I just layered up and placed my photos. I also added some eyelets and threaded ribbon through - I can't remember the last time I used eyelets but thanks to the Hey Little Magpie FB challenge I dug them out and was really happy with this added little detail.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Hi - over on the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/552391421467054/" target="_blank">Go Go Getaway Facebook</a> group we have a Colour challenge, set by the lovely Jo. I have to admit they were colours I wouldn't usually use much of but I had some silly snapchat pics that I wanted to use with my fab NSD stamps from Shimelle and I thought they would work well. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bi7gJ7QLEGk/WXjzAvXNQKI/AAAAAAAAFcY/xc3Xork_CcMgCXDDkH5uFVF4HLkuC9FeACLcBGAs/s1600/Esther%2Bcolour%2Bchallenge%2BLO.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bi7gJ7QLEGk/WXjzAvXNQKI/AAAAAAAAFcY/xc3Xork_CcMgCXDDkH5uFVF4HLkuC9FeACLcBGAs/s640/Esther%2Bcolour%2Bchallenge%2BLO.jpg" width="614" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I started by creating a mixed media background of spray inks and crackle paste and then layered up my photos with flowers cut from some really old patterned paper, stickers and stamped phrases. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-w6p11jOuosI/WXjzAKDZHYI/AAAAAAAAFcU/IGWPhDtvopEJJtlYSQap5uoiTc5sFtkeACLcBGAs/s1600/August%2Bcolour%2Bchallenge.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-w6p11jOuosI/WXjzAKDZHYI/AAAAAAAAFcU/IGWPhDtvopEJJtlYSQap5uoiTc5sFtkeACLcBGAs/s320/August%2Bcolour%2Bchallenge.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Every entry to our challenge gets entered into a draw to win 1000 reward points to spend at Hey Little Magpie, we'd love for you to share your layouts with us. </div>

I love using larger photos and have combined it here with my love of mixed media.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wzp3hdkVqac/WV06TD-TFCI/AAAAAAAAFaI/SEFQEltLOzc6Qi837Y1LI-DFMB-mk5NGgCLcBGAs/s1600/Layout%2Band%2Bfooter.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="853" data-original-width="798" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wzp3hdkVqac/WV06TD-TFCI/AAAAAAAAFaI/SEFQEltLOzc6Qi837Y1LI-DFMB-mk5NGgCLcBGAs/s640/Layout%2Band%2Bfooter.jpg" width="598" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I first placed the photo which is 8x6 on the background paper and used my fingers to smudge a frame of gesso around it. Over this I added texture paste and bead gel - you can see the texture better below.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-M8yLrTSFqYk/WV06VXqAU8I/AAAAAAAAFaM/Gdz82yRCl4ApvQue553e62Eg2QwhRvkrwCLcBGAs/s1600/Photo%2B19-06-2017%252C%2B14%2B01%2B07.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-M8yLrTSFqYk/WV06VXqAU8I/AAAAAAAAFaM/Gdz82yRCl4ApvQue553e62Eg2QwhRvkrwCLcBGAs/s640/Photo%2B19-06-2017%252C%2B14%2B01%2B07.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Once this was all dry I used Gelatos to add some colour before going in with my stickles and mica flakes for some bling. I kept it minimal with the other embellishments, just some hearts, a simple title a few lines of journaling and I was done. I have loved being a guest, thank you so much for UK Scrap Addicts for having me...Esther xxEstherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08101761329671975771noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6899524468412715475.post-60013341020450569812017-07-03T07:00:00.000+01:002017-07-03T07:00:10.851+01:00Double Stick It DownI am so excited - I am joining the <a href="http://stickitdown.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Stick It Down</a>, Double Page Team and it's time for my first layout using the July challenge sketch.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UnmvM_iQM80/WVffnJT2QfI/AAAAAAAAFZA/HVDk1P89GtsYF7c-ubSN0Mw4CadNb8qwACLcBGAs/s1600/double%2Blayout.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="1600" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UnmvM_iQM80/WVffnJT2QfI/AAAAAAAAFZA/HVDk1P89GtsYF7c-ubSN0Mw4CadNb8qwACLcBGAs/s640/double%2Blayout.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And here is the sketch</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BYpcKIG81h0/WVffo4kxkhI/AAAAAAAAFZE/KTFJDaMdyDIwAAsvmRTfVks5cU3OFmaUgCLcBGAs/s1600/July%2Bsketch.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="480" data-original-width="960" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BYpcKIG81h0/WVffo4kxkhI/AAAAAAAAFZE/KTFJDaMdyDIwAAsvmRTfVks5cU3OFmaUgCLcBGAs/s640/July%2Bsketch.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've used a mix of all sorts of papers from my stash and fussy cut some of the elements to use as embellishments. <a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YGXIqOA1rJU/WVffrG_mLII/AAAAAAAAFZI/-R7oAoUuO7wVibJRNgJVgK4L0inQOwShgCLcBGAs/s1600/Photo%2B19-06-2017%252C%2B13%2B55%2B20.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YGXIqOA1rJU/WVffrG_mLII/AAAAAAAAFZI/-R7oAoUuO7wVibJRNgJVgK4L0inQOwShgCLcBGAs/s640/Photo%2B19-06-2017%252C%2B13%2B55%2B20.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
I also created my own mixed media background with texture paste through a stencil and spritzing with Heidi Shine sprays. The photos were taken when we completed the purchase of our new house, and I've added some quotes that a friend had written in the New Home Card she gave us.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
This is not my usual style of layout, there is not messy ink, paint or other mediums, no stamping either and I rarely use pink. I probably wouldn't have made it this way if I hadn't been following the mood board, so it just shows you how good it is to use prompts sometimes and step out of your usual comfort zone. Thanks for stopping by - Happy Crafting, Esther xx </div>

Wow- July already, and I (Esther) am back on the <a href="http://blog.gogo-getaway.co.uk/" target="_blank">Go Go Getaway blog</a> to share my version of the fab Ombre technique that Terri taught at March 2017 Go Go Getaway. I created a panel across the full width of my page. I started with white at the top then mixed some Gelato stick with the texture paste to create the colour, gradually adding more as I moved down the page. I didn't want to cover up all that yummy texture so just used a few bits and pieces around the photo. <img alt="July - Ombre texture" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3203" data-mce-src="https://bloggogogetaway.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/july-ombre-texture.jpg?w=680" data-wpmedia-src="https://bloggogogetaway.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/july-ombre-texture.jpg" height="3750" src="https://bloggogogetaway.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/july-ombre-texture.jpg?w=680" style="height: auto; max-width: 100%;" width="3600" /></div>

I love this look and will definitely be using it again. I'd love to see your layouts if you have a go so please share on the <a data-mce-href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/552391421467054/" href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/552391421467054/" style="color: #00aadc;">facebook page</a> - and don't forget you can also enter out monthly challenge on the page too.</div>

I took some time out from Design Team work yesterday to create a scrapbook layout inspired by a couple of current challenges. We have recently moved into a new build home and I have loved starting with a blank canvas and planning how I'd like the rooms to look. It's a gradual process time and finance dependant but we're getting there. I've scrapped a couple of my favourite buys for <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/1074181915950949/" target="_blank">Hey Little Magpie's </a>Facebook group challenge which is to scrap our favourite things, but not people or places.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="text-align: center;">As well as this theme I used the sketch from </span><a href="http://stucksketches.blogspot.co.uk/" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Stuck?!</a><span style="text-align: center;"> as a starting point. </span></div>

I started by smooshing inks to my cardstock, then applied texture paste through a script stencil in a heart shape. Unfortunately the heart shape got lost once I started adding photos and layers, but the script is still there. I added a glittery tag, die cut flowers backed with Tim Holtz tissue wrap, Nuvo drops and sequins. </div>

Hi - I'm over on the <a href="http://blog.gogo-getaway.co.uk/" target="_blank">GoGo Getaway blog</a> with another technique re-make. I've used Glitter Paste techniques which Kirei taught in March 2017. Kirei used the paste on her layouts with a brush on the beautiful flower elements of her page and to create glittery backfill shapes.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FQXTXw-WIwc/WSxzbowqdAI/AAAAAAAAFR8/86DaUU2Npb4fJrriUlXiS2vLub5qTxPygCLcB/s1600/IMG_5490a.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1598" data-original-width="1600" height="199" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FQXTXw-WIwc/WSxzbowqdAI/AAAAAAAAFR8/86DaUU2Npb4fJrriUlXiS2vLub5qTxPygCLcB/s200/IMG_5490a.JPG" width="200" /></a><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9KeXFCcPdh4/WSxzeBilqmI/AAAAAAAAFSA/k5BYeIHZaHEjltxBZ2n1U4kIMPXgS-hlACLcB/s1600/IMG_5510a.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="200" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9KeXFCcPdh4/WSxzeBilqmI/AAAAAAAAFSA/k5BYeIHZaHEjltxBZ2n1U4kIMPXgS-hlACLcB/s200/IMG_5510a.JPG" width="199" /></a></div>
<br />
<div data-mce-style="text-align: center;" style="color: #3d596d; font-family: "Noto Serif", Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times, serif; font-size: 16px; margin-bottom: 24px; text-align: center;">
I've used a stencil to apply Glitter paste to my background to create the hanging stars. I've layered up the photo (of my gorgeous great nephew) very simply with vellum, Navy and Silver cardstock.<img alt="June - Glitter Paste" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3091" data-mce-src="https://bloggogogetaway.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/june-glitter-paste.jpg?w=680" data-wpmedia-src="https://bloggogogetaway.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/june-glitter-paste.jpg" height="3750" src="https://bloggogogetaway.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/june-glitter-paste.jpg?w=680" style="height: auto; max-width: 100%;" width="3600" /></div>
<div data-mce-style="text-align: center;" style="color: #3d596d; font-family: "Noto Serif", Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times, serif; font-size: 16px; margin-bottom: 24px; text-align: center;">
I've then also used the glitter paste as Kirei did to 'paint' my cut file title.</div>
<div style="color: #3d596d; font-family: "Noto Serif", Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times, serif; font-size: 16px; margin-bottom: 24px;">
<img alt="June - glitter paste close up" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3099" data-mce-src="https://bloggogogetaway.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/june-glitter-paste-close-up1.jpg?w=680" data-wpmedia-src="https://bloggogogetaway.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/june-glitter-paste-close-up1.jpg" height="3190" src="https://bloggogogetaway.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/june-glitter-paste-close-up1.jpg?w=680" style="height: auto; max-width: 100%;" width="4608" /></div>
<div data-mce-style="text-align: center;" style="color: #3d596d; font-family: "Noto Serif", Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times, serif; font-size: 16px; margin-bottom: 24px; text-align: center;">
I love a bit of sparkle and bling don't you ? Don't forget to have a look at this months challenge over on our <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/552391421467054/" target="_blank">Facebook page</a> - it's a recipe set by Kirei and of course you could be in wiht the chance of winning a fabulous prize. Looking forward to seeing what you create - and do share your layouts in the group if you feel inspired to get out the glitter paste too.</div>

I chose some photos of my Niece and Nephew from 2004 when they came to stay over and we had a trip to the zoo. I have used both the sketches from <a href="http://stickitdown.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Stick It Down</a> (love that I finally have time to join in challenges again!). <div>
<br /></div>
<div>
First the Double Sketch - I used some artistic licence and rather than paper panels for the edges I created colour blocks with Ecoline Water Colours. </div>
<div>
<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2g0SfnuUSUg/WSSic426u9I/AAAAAAAAFO8/11r7VeZF3_MgoUfvJNTlSKwV1gVDq9k6ACLcB/s1600/zoo%2Bdouble%2Blayout.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2g0SfnuUSUg/WSSic426u9I/AAAAAAAAFO8/11r7VeZF3_MgoUfvJNTlSKwV1gVDq9k6ACLcB/s640/zoo%2Bdouble%2Blayout.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
Here's the original sketch -<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTHKJHk6yaQM0VIeFUBfqyX_x3ux0UWN1kjzO296jRcTsM-IwzDPFar_1q8UesTgTrFMQx7jzzImSFl9PJ8O4OtvrBV539fe2Df-ciZJiVCaq40rDlRGjDRXyMn80KL5ZHiuM-gVjvk34/s400/may+17+double.jpg" /></div>
As well as using the watercolours on the edges I added splatters and splodges, some stamping and lots of layers.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oWhvGlzOY08/WSSk3NC7iOI/AAAAAAAAFPM/OKkgFYc7DN871KK6dvRQsbpRGo-pXuc2QCLcB/s1600/Photo%2B22-05-2017%252C%2B14%2B56%2B15.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="380" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oWhvGlzOY08/WSSk3NC7iOI/AAAAAAAAFPM/OKkgFYc7DN871KK6dvRQsbpRGo-pXuc2QCLcB/s400/Photo%2B22-05-2017%252C%2B14%2B56%2B15.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8ER2qfhyLfs/WSSk4TMLFWI/AAAAAAAAFPQ/8zsZpLKCZYoyArwLvvHIrkPCLJ4b8_aZACLcB/s1600/Photo%2B22-05-2017%252C%2B14%2B56%2B26.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="386" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8ER2qfhyLfs/WSSk4TMLFWI/AAAAAAAAFPQ/8zsZpLKCZYoyArwLvvHIrkPCLJ4b8_aZACLcB/s400/Photo%2B22-05-2017%252C%2B14%2B56%2B26.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Still using Ecoline inks for the background I also made a page using the single sketch. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgngTN-db2w1nukW5LzCV_czD42RHg0C8wB-Yvd-t22jwE4nZESlfGoRAo-4jnv7TPP1L6tCEaW9gMBMTdflc9v9SQr2XnFOy2DdcjzzWFZy0C-UhtKg8SHmEolLmz5e9w0qLpz15YHH14/s1600/hello.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgngTN-db2w1nukW5LzCV_czD42RHg0C8wB-Yvd-t22jwE4nZESlfGoRAo-4jnv7TPP1L6tCEaW9gMBMTdflc9v9SQr2XnFOy2DdcjzzWFZy0C-UhtKg8SHmEolLmz5e9w0qLpz15YHH14/s320/hello.png" style="cursor: move;" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0Ow4jy-bkHk/WSSieeM0uUI/AAAAAAAAFPA/IodlBMK30TsjWe6WefnSooZnmJZTFLbQgCLcB/s1600/May%2BSingle%2BSketch.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0Ow4jy-bkHk/WSSieeM0uUI/AAAAAAAAFPA/IodlBMK30TsjWe6WefnSooZnmJZTFLbQgCLcB/s640/May%2BSingle%2BSketch.jpg" width="638" /></a></div>
<div>
Loved using these sketches - I was struggling with these photos as the colour combinations were outside my comfort zone (bright red and blue!) so having the sketches as a starting point really helped me focus on the layout design first rather than getting hung up on the colours.</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
I'm sharing a layout today that I created using one of of the fab techniques taught at the recent GoGo Getaway retreat in March 2017. I used shaving foam and distress re-inkers to create my marbling and once dry (which is super quick) I die cut and punched flowers and added Nuvo drops to the centres.<span style="color: #666666; font-family: karla, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: #f9f7f0; border-color: initial; border-image: initial; border-style: initial; box-sizing: inherit; font-size: 17px; height: auto;"><img alt="May - Marbelling" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2736" data-attachment-id="2736" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-description="" data-image-meta="{"aperture":"0","credit":"","camera":"","caption":"","created_timestamp":"0","copyright":"","focal_length":"0","iso":"0","shutter_speed":"0","title":"","orientation":"1"}" data-image-title="May – Marbelling" data-large-file="https://bloggogogetaway.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/may-marbelling.jpg?w=1140?w=983" data-medium-file="https://bloggogogetaway.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/may-marbelling.jpg?w=1140?w=288" data-orig-file="https://bloggogogetaway.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/may-marbelling.jpg?w=1140" data-orig-size="3600,3750" data-permalink="http://blog.gogo-getaway.co.uk/2017/05/02/just-marble-ous/may-marbelling/" sizes="(max-width: 1140px) 100vw, 1140px" src="https://bloggogogetaway.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/may-marbelling.jpg?w=1140" srcset="https://bloggogogetaway.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/may-marbelling.jpg?w=1140 1140w, https://bloggogogetaway.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/may-marbelling.jpg?w=2280 2280w, https://bloggogogetaway.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/may-marbelling.jpg?w=144 144w, https://bloggogogetaway.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/may-marbelling.jpg?w=288 288w, https://bloggogogetaway.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/may-marbelling.jpg?w=768 768w, https://bloggogogetaway.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/may-marbelling.jpg?w=983 983w" style="border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; height: auto; max-width: 100%;" /></span></span></div>
</div>
The marbling effect said 70’s to me so I used this old photo of my sister and I all dressed up for a fancy dress party! My sister is an amazing mum to six children - one of whom was diagnosed with Leukaemia when she was just 8 yrs old. My sister was so incredibly strong during the most difficult two years while Amy went through treatment and she is such an inspiration to me. We were heading off here to a fund raiser for Click Sargent who were incredible when our family needed support. Thankfully my niece is now recovered, healthy and 14 years later a gorgeous mummy herself. <br /><br />I used the same inks dripped on some packaging, spritzed with water then smooshed onto my background cardstock, added some texture paste through a stencil and after layering the photo sprinkled the flowers and some sequins.<br /><br /><div>
I'm sharing my layout here - <br /><a href="http://scrap-the-girls.blogspot.co.uk/">Scrap the Girls</a><br /><a href="http://morethanwordschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/">More than Words </a><br /></div>
<div>
This was a super fun technique and so easy, <br />Happy Scrapping….Esther xx</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZXh2aMXc6q4/WOuPJ3TbLPI/AAAAAAAAE6Q/2ttlqx0UvG4M2AJGVmABTVZ_wvWFfPzigCLcB/s1600/nancy%2BApril%2Bchallenge.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZXh2aMXc6q4/WOuPJ3TbLPI/AAAAAAAAE6Q/2ttlqx0UvG4M2AJGVmABTVZ_wvWFfPzigCLcB/s640/nancy%2BApril%2Bchallenge.jpg" width="632" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used ink and the packaging technique (current favourite) on the background, layered up patterned papers and added some die cuts, wooden flowers and Novo Crystal drops. <a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_qmc4AC0H1w/WOuPMZ-1JDI/AAAAAAAAE6U/lZUzTX0tRj49MpW8PqRzHDP2ueaXwmbjQCLcB/s1600/IMG_2598.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="473" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_qmc4AC0H1w/WOuPMZ-1JDI/AAAAAAAAE6U/lZUzTX0tRj49MpW8PqRzHDP2ueaXwmbjQCLcB/s640/IMG_2598.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

Hi - It's been ages since I've had time to blog as we've been busy moving house but that didn’t stop me taking some inspiration from my GoGo Getaway design team mates and had go at a couple of the Be Inspired challenges set at the March retreat. I created a double layout of pictures of my great Niece. </div>

<span style="text-align: justify;">The first uses Terri’s list of elements. </span><span style="text-align: justify;">I decided to create a grid with luggage tags, I added texture paste to two of them, cut two from patterned paper and spritzed the remaining tags with Heidi Swapp colour shine spray. After adding three small photos I went to town with lots of yummy layers and embellishments making sure to include the items on Terri’s list.</span><span style="text-align: justify;"> </span></div>

I wish I had been able to see the Be Inspired wall of creations at the retreat as it always looks amazing with everyone's layouts. I’m hoping to have a go at some of the other Be Inspired Challenges too as they were all great ideas to kick start our pages. For more details of GoGo Getaway retreats pop over <a href="http://www.gogo-getaway.co.uk/" target="_blank">here</a>. </div>
